Aaron, Rob, and I got to fish with Jordan Osborn of Upper Columbia Guide Service for a day of walleye fishing on Banks Lake. We met at 5:30am and hit the water running. It was a gorgeous day with light to know wind and warm temps, touching 90 degrees later in the day (OK, a little wind would have been nice!)
We trolled worm harnesses, Mack’s smile blades, and nightcrawlers in 15 to 35 feet of water. The action was pretty steady all day, but we struggled finding keeper fish. That is, until Aaron landed one of the largest walleyes I have ever seen, measuring a solid 28”. This fish had shoulders! Caught on a Mack’s smile blade in green, I believe.
Lots of sub 16” walleye out there, the lake needs a bit of culling IMO. Jordan worked hard all day and we saw a lot of spectacular scenery – I do love Banks Lake! Thanks Jordan for a fun day on the water.
