Drove down late Saturday to try out Riffe Lake for the first time. Put in at about 6:30 pm at the Taidnapam Park boat launch. Trolled a Wedding ring with holographic blade on it and pop gear. Bait was a piece of worm and corn soaked in garlic oil. Had my first hit about 15 mins out on the water and lost it. Second hit was about 10 mins later and pulled in a nice 16" silver. A couple more hits and it was getting close to dark thirty so wrapped up and planned on hitting the fish first thing Sunday. As I was driving to the boat launch my check engine light came on and pretty much ended my day. Was a great spot will try to go back this weekend to finish what I started!

It's all been said before, but one more time. There are no kokanee in Riffe Lake, the salmon that are planted there are land locked coho. For kokanee (landlocked sockeye salmon) try Merwin. Bob R

Ya guys, I know there not kokanee, but did not see the salmon option when doing the report. I will look harder next time. The check engine light turned out to be my van overheating and ended up blowing up the radiator and clutch fan. Got those replaced today and will be checking it over the next couple days to make sure it is ready for another trip.
