No fish at cosmos end of lake. too warm i think. Jeff and I put in at mossyrock dam. we talked to a few other fishers, who did not have very good reports. the few fish being caught, were "shakers" one fellow said. I motored out to middle, right to the left of the launch exit. 300 ft of water. no fish to be marked. contined searching, and, nearing the opposite shore, in 100-115' of water, started to mark a few fish. We dropped down to 67', using a bahama mama, squid, on a sixteen inch leader, baited with worm and garlic corn. Took a while, but we got our limits. one 16, four 15, three 14, and two 12". one of which was a chinook. Seems i had what they wanted.

My boat is a bass and ski so I not going to mount any downn riggers on it. Plus my 94 evinrude doesn't like to idle to troll. Do guy think a guy could still fish for those even though they are ssuspended? Maybe a half ounce or so with a leader astillbait of choice might work. All of the reports still fishing for kokes seems to be on or near the bottom.

If you have a depth finder, get to about 70 ft of water near the river mouth and anchor. Drop down to the bottom and then come up about three cranks. Use a size 6 hook with a piece of night crawler and a little chunk of cooked prawn with some garlic powder shaken on it. the bite is very subtle, almost like a bullhead nibble. When the rod tip dips a little, set the hook!

Not trying to give you a hard time - but do you know you have posted this same report three times in two days? :)

I am so used to posting on kokanee, that i thought, to be more accurate, id post on "salmon". so i did. i then, forgot, and went to kokanee later. not remembering. so, i thought since most all of us, would want my coho, in the kokanee section. well. you know. yes. i know what sockeye and coho difference is. i was trying to make the report more visible, as many would not go to "salmon" in a lake listing. so. sorry for the three reports. good intentions for this, tho. if i could erase two , i would. i had no problem launching my 14' boat. all others i saw were much larger than mine, as well. perhaps six. the wind made it a chore to troll. the one thing about these coho, they dont come off the hook much. most of the fish had both hooks in the mouth. they had green junk in their guts.

I have an elite 7x at the bow. The one at the steering wheel only works for chart plotter. I want to get the Garmin 73v with side scan. That might not be for a few more months though.

In July the only person I saw catch anything off the dam on either side had to go 40 feet deep and it took him all morning to catch to coho. They are going deep due to the water being too warm knocking their appetite off. PS...THERE ARE NO KOKANEE IN RIFFE LAKE..you can contact the Vancouver Wildlife office that will confirm that they have never put any Kokanee in Riffe Lake. They stock it with Landlocke Coho . Coho and Kokanee (sockeye family) are completely two different types of Salmon.... this debate has been going on as long as I can remember... lol Back to Kayaking for me until the water cools... no luck even with Bass fishing... You might want to try Mayfield lake which have trout biting still..if you like trout..
