If you can rate a day by the company, the lake and the weather then this day was a 10. Had my wife, and the puppies on the boat and there was NO cell signal. From 9ish to 5ish with NO buzz, no ring, no dings. Sun, warm lake and great shore lunch.

The fishing on the other hand was tough. Schools were hard to locate, and no fish when you could find them. I got two nice Kokes and three very skinny 14 inch Cutthroats. Threw every flash or cowbells i had in the bx at them and changed wedding rings colors every thirty minutes. Got one on green and one on gold but no patterns emerged.

On a funny note. Had a hit and grabbed the rod and set the hook and pop out of the clip. Instead the line snapped. Damm. Sat down and restrung and picked out the next in line hardware to use. Got it all set and baited up and let the line out and reached down to grab the clip and I had never brought it up. So brought it up and behold, the line was still in the clip!! Ya....I didnt loose my favorite macks at all! SO grabbed the line and started hand lining it in and damn if the fish wasn't still one. Not only didn't he pop the line out of the clip when I set it, he wasn't big enough to pull slack line out of it either. A Cuttie about 8 inches. LOL

Myself and JonB were out there the same day and time as you, at least in the afternoon.
It was a tough, slow fishing day. Of course the Scraig1962 guy, had a 5 star solid report on that day.
Pretty windy, and plenty of skiers.

Thats too bad you guys didnt get into more fish...my pops and I were out there as well and did pretty well. Typically we troll the northeast side from the rope swing to a little past the point where the houses start and cove starts going in, staying around 60-65' of water. Marked fish fairly consistently from 55-20'. Kept the cable at about 42' and were pretty successful. Im usually dragging a red/green macks kokanee pro with green smile blade. Some guys live and die by corn, but i stick with worm tipped. Use a little piece on top hook with just enough tail to reach bottom hook. Keep pounding water, been fishing the lake for years and took a while to dial it all in!! Good Luck!

If you launch out and have the bow pointed towards the island, we got all ours fairly close to shore on the left shoreline close to the boat launch in about 60 fow. Most of the fish I marked were in 30ft and deeper water when we were there from 11-2. I usually soak shoe peg corn in anise oil for bait, with 1 piece on each hook. Last year I broke 2 rods on the same trip using Scotty release clips. I switched to the white offshore brand releases this year and really like them.
