Took my daughters to long for an afternoon of bass fishing. We had only started when there was a brush fire directly across the lake from us; probably started by someone smoking dope while playing on the tire swing just down river from the Suncrest launch. The stupidity of pleasure boaters was on display once again as they kept getting in the way of the pontoon water bombers that were fighting the fire, Those pilots were pretty spectacular to watch as they nearly brushed the tree tops while bombing the fire. We watched them for about an hour and a half. As far as fishing goes we caught about 20 smallies and 1 largemouth, most were dinks but my daughter caught a 3 1/2 lb largemouth, and a 4 1/2 lb smallie. My best fish of the day was a 5 lb smallie. All in all a good day, the fire was contained before it could burn down any houses and I got to spend time with my girls.
