I am new to this site and hope to meet new people. Anyways went out for my second time today(first time was Sunday morning with no luck). Caught my first kokanees. Was really fun catching them.

I got there around 6 and caught my first within 15min trolling to the north end. Thanks Djbutler for giving me tips and putting it out that they are in the north end of the lake. About 30 min after my first one I caught the second. Then got a bite not long after but didn't get it. Then finally heading back in around 8 I caught the 3rd one about halfway back. Had a great time and super excited for my first catch. Will be going back soon.
Hope everyone is catching!

Mike

Thanks Djbutler.

Cobrar543- thanks for the welcoming and I was using this pink and silver dodger and caught the first with a pink wedding ring and switched to a green wedding ring after.

Nice fish! I really ought to try it out sometime. Ever since my trip to Cascade lake I have been missing the Kokanee. I only have an inflatable boat with oars.. would that work out there or too windy?

Heatherlyfish: Lake Meridian is usually not very windy. I have seen several small boats and inflatables there. Rowing can be good, as trolling speed can be around 1 mph. The trick will be getting your gear down accurately to where kokanee hold, typically 20 feet or more.

I was out Sunday. There was a triathlon going on so there were several hundred swimmers in the lake! Good thing I was first one on the water and had 3 of 5 in the boat before 0600. Lost the limit fish twice before I closed out my limit about 0800 and headed home to enjoy dad's day with my family.

Glad to see you having some success.

Good luck and tight lines!

Hey fish dawg. I was out there Sunday as well. Probably should have seen you. What kind of boat do you have. I was in a small green one. Old but it was free so can't argue with it. Yes I saw the swimmers did not catch any that day. Will be going this weekend. Thanks and you too.
