The Mrs. and I managed to get the rubber yacht in the water by 8 o'clock last Monday the 7th. It was chilly and foggy and I wished I had done as my smarter partner and worn long undies. We decided to use the "tried and true" method as reported earlier at this fine website. However there were fish rising everywhere all around us, sometimes jumping completely out of the water. About the time I started thinking how dumb I was to be just off the bottom with a worm and how I wished I hadn't left all my flies at home, I got a nice hit that produced a beautiful fat little rainbow. Then there was nothing for hours. Just as we were ready to call it a day, the sun came out a little bit and the bite was on. They seemed to like their bait moving, but very slowly. We ended up taking home a nice stringer of 5 fat bows, 10 to 14 inches. The Mrs. lost 3 by the boat; she was so frustrated. I think I'd better get some better leaders.
