Fished Tapps for the first time since like September???
Was not great. I caught 2, another guy said they got 12 between the 2 guys on the boat. The fish were SKINNY and SUPER PALE. They looked like Whitefish or Suckers when I got em close to the boat. Snags everywhere. It is clear in the deep areas of the main lake, but the edges are MEGA HAZZARDOUS. There are about 100 new trees and stumps stiking up. And, there are a bunch of dead-heads with like 2" of wood poking up that you have to dodge. At least someone went around the lake and stuck a bunch of little american flags out of the stick-ups.
I couldn't get any today in the northern half of the lake. Was about 2-3' of visibility, but in the south end it was 12". The whole lake looks like a milkshake, and is still about 3-4ft low. Terrible. I suggest waiting till August for the sediment to settle and allow the fish "de-school". My biggest went about 2lbs, the other boat's fish maxed out about the same. I didn't see any Muskie (but than again, I don't have the skill of Mike Floyd either!)
My Sonars were picking up soo much stuff that they became useless. Everything looked like fish. I thinke there is a ton of suspended matter (and fish) due to being exposed to air, that It's going to take quite awhile for that stuff to sink.
If you don't know the water well, than wait for the additional 3-4 of water before venturing out, and keep your eyes peeled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
