I finally got my brother to come out fishing with me, and wouldn't you know it - he had a couple in the boat before I did! He was using a borrowed, black with green sparkles, woollie bugger and no worm taster on his one pole and I was using my 2 poles; one with a very light/white pistol pete with worm taster and the other pole had a light brown pistol pete, also with a worm taster. The lines were a long ways behind the boat. We had a little bit of weight on the lines to get the flies a little deeper. Fish finder showed a lot of fish fairly deep down at the south end of the lake, so that is where we trolled.
I switched one of my poles over to a small flasher & trolled a pink wedding ring I'd modified slightly. That also managed to get a couple of really good hits on it. I had one of fish up to the edge of the boat, but he managed to get off before we could net it We both limited within a couple of hours. It was a great day to be on the lake; beautiful weather and we enjoyed watching a couple of Bald eagles that were frequent visitors to the lake and the surrounding tree tops.
The fish seemed to be in the 10"-11" range and were nice-sized fish. I smoked mine so I could enjoy them a little longer.
I love this lake!
Sorry, but no pictures this trip.
Sorry for late report - something happened when I was writing it and I just now realized it never got completed.
