We've fished the past three weekends, Fri/Sat/Sun each time up. Last weekend was good but got the skunk on Saturday, had four solid take-downs but two were gone by the time I got the rod out of the holder and the other two gave me a quick head-shake or two and then were gone. Friday got 7 and Sunday got 6 between the wife and I. We've caught fish all but one of the nine days fished so far, my advise is to avoid the crowds. There are fish all over the lake including right down by the dam. Size "0" dodger in various colors, chrome with silver tape, gold tape, etc. and a variety of hoochie and bead presentations worked for us in pink, red, purple, and glow patterns. Our best has come from 55-60 feet on the DR in about 170 FOW. Cured shrimp, coon shrimp, and sand shrimp have all produced. The key is troll slow, about 1.1mph and find water with less pressure, and FISH DIFFERENT!! Don't worry what is working for others, find what works for you.

Nice work! I got skunked the last three times out including today. How much leader and how many pulls before you clip on to your downrigger?
Thank you for all and anymore advice that you can give me!

Punkrocker, I measure all of my leaders out to 11" then tie my knots, total from tip of swivel to end of bottom hook comes out right about 12". Measure them! I used to eyeball and learned my leaders were far too long. I also bend the back of my dodger so that you get more action to the hooks. Some will go shorter down to 9" or 10" and that is fine but with the dodger bent I don't need to. Baker is close quarters fishing so I don't go back more than 30-40 pulls. If you'd like to know more, send me a PM. Speed and depth are important, keep your presentations small. A 1.5" hoochie with no more than 3 beads, and either a .8" or 1.1" smile blade, if using a hoochie with no spinner you can go to 2".
