We headed out in my 12' lund for some perch, we didn't have any worms and perch meat wasn't working for us. So I decided to throw on a white and chartreuse pattern trout magnet along with an egg sinker about 1' to 1.5' from the trout magnet. All you have to do is drop it down to the bottom reel in a bit so it's right off the bottom and you'll slay them (I have caught some of my personal record sized perch doing this). You don't have to jig but sometimes a few twitches will entice them. If your wondering where iI was fishing, I was at the far north end out in the middle, it's about 21' where I go, so I had no trouble anchoring. Quick tip: A lot of the time they will be on your line but they just hang on to it and it's hard to tell so if you set the hook occasionally you'd be surprised at how much more you will get. Tight lines.
