So...my step dad and I went out fishing for some Kokanee...well it didn't go to well. Motor wasn't running worth crud and the wind blew us to shore a few times...I now have zero faith in 2smoke motors. Although we may not have caught any Kokanee, we did slay the SM and one small LM. From about 7am-4pm was nonstop action. They ranged from little dinky 4-6in clear up to the 3lb guppie I caught. Were using 1/8oz spin baits and I tried a big duel blade booya. The 1/8 oz were the chartreuse/white w/chrome sparkle/clear skirt and the other was a black/blue/white w/ chrome sparkle. Down count of 2 seconds about 4ft off the rocks and straight burn it in.

I'm not surprised you didn't catch any kokes in Riffe, there aren't any. I'm sure the fish you were targeting there are landlocked coho salmon, not landlocked sockeye (kokanee). They are prevalent in Merwin, though. Glad you had some luck with smallmouths. Bob R
