After striking out at Coho fishing in the sound, I decided to hit up Lake Washington for some cutthroat action. Also to check out the Moss Bay area to see how it was looking for coho coming in. I started just south of Juanita bay and trolled south along the shoreline. I was staying in about 55 - 80 ft of water using the usual brads cutplug. I picked up my first cutthroat abeam the Kirkland marina. It was about 18" long. After circling around and resetting my gear, I picked up my second cutthroad about 5 minutes later. This one was only anout 14" long. I trolled for a while longer before getting my third hit. This one made it to the side of the boat before rolling and doing a self release, then slowly swiming back to the depths. It looked to be around the 18" size. I tried for another 40 minutes working my way toward Evergreen point and only had one other release from the downrigger, but no fish. I called it a day around 2pm and headed home to clean the boat. It was very warm out there with almost no wind.
