Had to try one last time for Coho! Started fishing at 7:00 in front of Hunts Point like last year and fished for an hour without a strike. Moved over to the Kirkland bay and caught a dark old humpie at 50' in 105' feet of water. Let him back to finish his course and my dad hooked into a nice silver!! Finally!! Got with in 3ft of the net and it came off!! AGGGHH!! Nice 5-6lb chrome hen! Back at it and saw two guys in an older Arima catch two around 3-4lbs. Saw a few jumpers in the 70-90ft depth. Fished for another hour and the wind got terrible!! White caps!

Moved back over in front of Hunts Point at 10:00 to get out of the wind and BAM!! Rod blows up off the downrigger and the fish flys into the air fifty feet behind the boat. Got about four cranks on the reel and it came off!!! Fish was 5lbs or so. Between the wind and the fish coming off I was ready to call it quits. I t was fun but challenging. There's fish in there!!! Tight Lines.

KidKokanne, if you're not sure about extra fees at the Kirkland ramp, consider just putting in at Magnusson, and a quick ride right across the lake to Kirkland, etc.
Magnusson is a beautiful launch. If you're fishing N. Of the floating bridges, makes no sense to even consider Coulon.

Kirkland boat ramp is free October- April. However, there are no parking allowed during weekend.

The Kirkland Website list Nov. 1st through March 31st for the free use of the ramp. Otherwise it is $20 for a single day pass and $35 for a three day pass, plus a one time $10 registration fee. Or they have annual passes too. You can park just a block away at Heritage Park. They have several trailer only parking spots, but are not for overnight parking. The second spot to park is at City Hall, just only on weekends. It is not a very smooth launch last time I used it. Lots of broken concrete on the ramp making big holes in the ramp. But you don't have to go far to be fishing. I personally use the Kenmore launch only because I live near Bothell and it is free.

You can launch from Newport boat launch I think it is also 12-15$ now. It will save 10 minutes vs launching from Coulon but it is limited space. There is also a small public launch under I90 on Mercer Island in the East Channel. Thanks for the report I was going to go to the lake but instead went to the Sky then the Wallace Sunday. I hope the silvers stick around for a while. iith the emergency net closure and late rain I was hoping a few might build up. Can't wait to go.
