Actually fished both Saturday & Sunday. Saturday was beautiful, launched the float tube and paddled out about 100'. Put a piece of nightcrawler on my spinning rod with a small split shot, and tossed it out while I rigged by flyrod. Had an immediate hit, reeled in my first Kokanee. Pretty fish, obviously getting ready to spawn, hooked jaw and dark. Released him after a photo, figured it try to get some more. Fished another hour and not another bite. Was only in about 15' of water, tried it out deeper, but nothing. Rigged up a small Olive Bugger and work down the shore, caught a half dozen nice little cutts before I had to leave at 9:30.

came back Sunday, overcast but dry. Fish rising all over the lake. Tried for 3-hrs with everything in the fly box, never got a hit. Also tried for Kokanee #2, but didn't bet a bite from them either, although I did see a fellow trolling that end of the lake who was catching some. Big mistake was not bringing my floating line with me, only had the sink tip. Looking they were taking midges off the surface, need to go back next Saturday with my floating line.

Nice little lake, only get up there about once a year, but love the quiet (early AM in the Fall, can only imagine what the skiers are like in the warm months). Anybody have an luck still fishing kokes? watched the video on the board, since chumming is allowed on Cavanaugh, might need to give that a shot again. That little guy was a kick to catch, would like to try it again if I can figure out how to get them still fishing or flyfishing.
