Launched the rowboat at Beaver at around 9:30am yesterday, foregoing the morning bite because I expected the day to get warmer and the fish to get more active. We still had to seek them out like year's past. We generally fished a spot for a half hour and would move on if we didn't catch anything or get any bites. Four of our five fish were caught in the far northwestern corner of the lake by the wooded bend around 1pm. We used rainbow and orange powerbait off the bottom about 2ft, casting towards just off the docks. The largest was over 2lbs with another coming in just under that. It was a cold day and a hard limit but the fish fought really well and it was a well-spent day-off from work.

Nice lookin' fish! I'm not a trout fisherman usually, but by the darker colors I'd guess "hold overs."

Not necessarily, it depends on the water color and how much and sun and stuff... I've caught trout the day they were stocked that looked darker then that one

They're broodstock trout that came from the Issaquah hatchery.

No they're just like any other planter trout...just kept at the hatchery for a couple years or so. Broodstock doesn't mean fin clipped.
