After reading the "day after Thanksgiving special" for Elton Pond, I managed to get out today and investigate. This lake is extremely full of Milfoil, so a long leader was a must. I fished on the backside of the lake, opposite the freeway, and caught my two trout limit fairly easily. It was COLD. My thermometer said 23 degrees when I parked, with an additional breeze. I wore lots of layers. If a person is wishing to shore fish this lake, they may be too late. It is about 90 percent frozen over. In fact, there was quite a bit of ice along the shore, requiring me to jerk the fish onto the ice and reel them in over it. Fun day! Approximately three feet of leader, pink power eggs, and lots of weight. I had to put on three slip sinkers before getting any bites. Tights lines y'all!
