Pepe' took Jeff and his son, Emilio out to confirm that the winter Kokanee bite is on. IT IS. They worked Colyar Ledge for a 2 guy limit, then had enough time to run uplake, go ashore and bag braces of chukar to complete the day. Working Mack's Lures mini cha cha's behind their Double D dodgers baited with Pautzke's Fire Corn really got the bite going. Trolling speeds of about 1 mph working just above the schools generated the action. The weather was way better on the 22nd (over yesterday). Merry Christmas and tight lines.

What time of year do the Lake Chelan Kokanee spawn? The December caught Kokanee, are as bright as summer fish.

They spawn from early September to mid October depending on which drainage and which strain of Kokanee they are. This is next year's crop we're catching now.
