Decided that I needed to go throw a line in the water after not fishing for over a month. I launched around 9:00 AM, and started fishing a dropshot rig with a roboworm. After about an hour with only a couple soft bites, I switched over to a Yamamoto grub. After only a few casts something sizable hit my grub but spit it out as soon as it took the grub. I kept fishing with the grub and the dropshot for a couple hours with no luck. I switched over to a lipless crank, and my first cast with it, the upper part of my rod came off and snapped the line somehow. Some luck that I have lol. Anyways I went back to dropshot fishing, and found 2 suspended 4-5lbers but scared them off. Overall it was a pretty good day fishing for being in December. Tight Lines!

At least you were out! Trying to convince myself to hit one of the small lakes here up north in the next couple of weeks....I went 1 fish for the last 4 trips in late Nov and Dec, so decided to give it a break for awhile. Question: when you say you found 2 suspended 4-5 lbers that you scared off, are you basing that on the graph picture, or did you see the fish? What depth were they suspended at? Thanks!

I actually saw the fish, i don't have a fishfinder. They were suspended at about 15ft on the edge of a drop off.

Nothing for me today. Only an hour on the lake. Maybe I should try Meridian, I've never fished Meridian in the winter, only Sawyer, Sammamish, Washington, and Banks, well in this state anyway. lol.
