Another fantastic Saturday on Angle Lake, but today there seemed to be more native rainbow trout than before, most a little on the small side, 9 - 11"

After 4 hours fishing I caught and released 5 and lost another 5 in the water. Some may have been hatchery steelhead common to this fishery. I only took picture of a couple of them.

I've been having great success fishing Dick Nites with pinched barbs, so I lose fish easily, and that's okay. Unless it is an extraordinarily big fish, I want to catch and release as soon as possible to preserve the little fella for the future. So I make it pretty easy for them to shake their own hook. I'm trolling two rods, so I don't bother to stop trolling while landing the fish and that keeps my second line off the bottom and ready to catch more fish.

Both poles ran Dick Nite, spotted green and hot pink, and scented with Garlic, trolled 20" behind a 4" dodger, weighted with 3/8 oz and trolled back 60 - 80 ft. The southern shoreline was the most productive.

It was an idilic day yet only sharing the lake with six other boats, but as I left for the day, there were an astonishing 20 fishermen on the dock! I don't know how well they were doing, but I know the boats were doing pretty darn good!
