It was a beautiful evening so I headed for Lake Cassidy to see if the crappies were active. When I launched my little 12' boat there were a couple of fisherman on shore catching a few planted trout. I was the only boat on the lake and I enjoyed a long slow row around the entire perimeter. The lily pads are finally surfacing and spring is here. I watched and listened to the many birds singing. I finally located a school of crappies on the north end and had a blast with my little white jig on my ultra light pole. I caught six in a row; 8, 9, 10, 10, 11, and a huge 12 incher. I released them all so I can catch them again next time. I also caught a small rainbow and two perch. No bass in sight.
This was some of the best crappie fishing I have ever had on Lake Cassidy and the 12 incher is the biggest I have ever seen there. Just another beautiful and peaceful evening.
