My son , a buddy, and I fished Palmer from the 19th -21st of May. The kokanee are being highly impacted by a "copepod" infestation of gills, mouth, and fins....seems to really have affected the feeding activity adversely. Few caught, but an incidental catch of an almost 8lb., 30 inch long Burbot was had in 50-55 feet of water in slow troll mode using Kokanee gear and trolling ultra slow with electric. Ugly...super ugly, but we will be eating the fillets!
Small silver dodger with red prizm tape followed by shoe peg corn tipped small pink squid was the ticket....though like I said.---It was more of a accidental catch than one that was targeted.
