We camped Friday night to Sunday AM. Did some bank fishing for Cats with no luck Friday pm and got dinner done just as the rain started. Poured all night, but woke up to clearing clouds and no much wind so got a good start.
First time here so went off all the other reports with bottom bouncers at a slow speed. Started with two with Slow death hooks with different color Smile blade and one with a bottom bouncer with a perch Rapala on it. On the 4th rod I talked my wife into pulling a Wholly bugger with a small silver smile blade.
Tried all day to find the Walleye and talking to other members there, they were very slim and far between. Except for one boat that brought in about 100..small exaggeration. They did have about 7 on that darn 29" sled.
What I DID catch was a limit of Rainbow Trout. The biggest was 2.6 and 19 inches. Only I can go to a walleye lake and come home with Trout. I did catch ONE Walleye and as I was measuring it on the side tape it flipped, stuck my hand and flopped right back into the lake. LOL
I did catch one more thing on that darn fly, I would swear it was a Carp. it stopped me in my tracks, fought it for almost 5 minutes until it was about 30 feet from the stern where I seen a big back, looked green/gold rolled and seen the cream belly and a BIG tail and down it went and pulled the small fly hook out. I about cried.
Woke Sunday Mornings to Whitecaps on the mud puddle so called it a weekend and packed up and headed back to western Washington rain.
