2nd day in a row at Goodwin. Morning weather did not look promising. Rained the whole way from my house to the launch. Arrived at the launch right about 7, by the timer I unloaded, got underway and lines down, it was probably 7:30. I left the launch, peddled out may 100 feet from the dock, turn the kayak south and put down the downrigger line. As I am reeling the rod down, it sure looks like something funky is happening. I get it reeled down snug, and all be darned, that was a fish. Did not even get a chance to get the other line in the water, and I have 1 in hand. Get both lines in the water, and the surface (ish) line starts bouncing. Maybe 10 minutes after launching I've got 2 in the boat. 20 minutes later, fish # 3, a nice plump 16 inch rainbow. went about 30 minutes with nothing, then in a five minute span got #4 and #5. I was limited well before 9am. Luckily it only rained briefly at the beginning.

Today was different a bit than yesterday. Today the line with the 1/4 ounce lead got just as much action as the downrigger *shrug* Again today, 5 fish on, 5 landed, though one popped off just as I get it under the net, and another just as I got it in the kayak.

My standard set up for Goodwin: 1/4 ounce rubber cored lead, Mack's Double D 4in dodger in all chrome. then a size 10 Doc Spratley fly in green, 16 inches of leader. On the downrigger: Mack's Double D 4in dodger with pink, 14 inch leader to a size 6 green Doc Spratley fly. A small dab of Pro-Cure Rainbow Trout get on the head of the fly. On the downrigger, 1st fish came at 10 feet on the wire, last one of the downrigger came at 15 feet. Again marking fish all over the water column from 10 - 30 feet. Most marks showed 15-25 feet. Course that why I caught 3 at 5-7 feet.

Fish were again fat and healthy. Meat was orange to almost red. Size of fish were 13 - 16 inches. Trolling speed was as close to 1.5 as I could come.

Halfway through the video I try to show/explain my set up on the business end. This time I will embed the correct video.
