6/9/2016 7:20:00 AMI was wondering what happen to all the fishing reports for Meridian....seems the fish are on vacation. I don't see many reports for Clear lake also. Glad you made it out and caught a couple beats getting skunked. thanks for the report DJ.

6/9/2016 8:08:00 AMmeridian is not the only lake that the kokes have acted this way. could be, they are nice fat, well fed kokes? who needs the humans offerings? they will come around. this low pressure thing we have going now, never helps a thing.

6/9/2016 5:48:00 PMWhen I saw Meridian I was hoping that someone had finally cracked the Da Vinci code for the year. I've gotten after them here times now with same results. Got to figure the little buggers out! Maybe a joint assault where we vow to literally run everything in the tackle box until we solve the mystery of the missing kokanee...

6/9/2016 8:04:00 PMI had the same results. 6 different combinations, caught and released 4 of those nice fat RB's but I seldom keep rainbows but they were f un to catch.

6/13/2016 12:16:00 AMSo you guys think that there are still mature Kokes in there? Can any of you tell a kokanee from a trout definitively with sonar? (I cant) I had been thinking that they all got the plague...... the one Koke I got a couple months ago was definitely well fed. Could a new abundant food source keep them from territorially attacking our lures? Only mention it because of the strange pungent seafood taste/smell of the meat of that one fat Koke. Was very oily and not very red meat.

6/13/2016 3:19:00 PMHmmm, good question Sideburns. Yes, you can tell the difference if using sonar that has color. The kokes tend to show up as yellow or orange arches for me. You know its kokes when huge schools like that pop up on your screen. Rainbows dont usually do that. I think you may be right on the food source. whatever it is, it has the kokes very picky. They are in there. I caught a ton of this year fish last season.
