I was camping around Quartz creek pond this weekend. Friday evening before dusk, I went out and threw Kastmasters. The fish were rising like crazy -- they'd also just recently stocked it as well. In an hour I had caught 15. 12 Rainbows (stockers) and 3 Brook Trout (native). Gold was the color of choice.

Sunday around noon my father, wife and I went back and all limited out. This time around Kastmasters were failing. They were all on the bottom. Green Power Eggs and about a foot and a half of leader limited us out easily.

All fish measured 10-12 inches (with the exception of the few brooks that were much smaller). I had some great evening pictures, but they were accidentally deleted around the fire while sipping some whiskey.

Actually brookies aren't native to washington state. The correct term might be "wild" if they are reproducing on their own. Many are stocked as fry maling them hatchery origin. Its very possible they are wild but impossible that theyre native.

Looks like a nice vacation. Why does Vanessa always catch the big ones?

Which campground were you at? We have been looking for a place like that to do some camping/fishing.
