Well went to potholes over the weekend to do some catfishing from the banks. Found a nice secret little spot a few miles past mar don.
Me and a buddy posted up over night and next thing I know my pole is almost gone into the water, I grab it and I know I have the biggest catfish I have ever caught on the pole. I was using 12lb braid line with 18" liter and a treble hook with a spring in the middle loaded with stink bait. He ended up being 26lb 11oz and 39" long. Confirmed at Mar Don Resort. Best trip I've ever had and I will be going back for more. Fish on!

She's an ugly old beast, but WOW that must have been one heck of a fight on 12LB test line!

Thanks for sharing.

Nice Cat my guess is it's a blue Cat, the larger cat we have are Channel and Blue and they usually inhabit the same types of water,26 lbs is one old cat, trophy fish may not taste too great, caught a 17LB out of the Yakima River the smaller ones we caught tasted better !

It looks to me like a Channel Cat, because of the deeply forked tail.

It was in fact a channel catfish, not quite the record but it's my best catch in Washington for cats! Loose lines guys ;)
