First time back out on Sammamish since the closure. Felt nice to be out there. Even though it is summer, bring a sweater for the morning.
First cast at about 9AM. After about 15 mins or so, caught my first fish of the day. A LMB on a swimbait. Only about a pounder. This fish wasn't very active. It water skied back to the boat. Gave up within a few seconds of getting hooked.
Got to my summer honey hole. It didn't disappoint. Landed 3 there with 1 that chased the last fish caught there. Biggest was maybe 1.75#. Averaged about 1-1.5# there.
Caught more small ones around the lake. Landed another rock bass. I think that makes it 2 now since I started fishing Sammamish.
Saw tons of bluegill and perch. Stole a bunch of my DS bait.
Even though it was overcast most of the time out on the water. When the sun did peak out. Wow it's intense. Heats everything up with the quickness.
Fished up by 12:30PM.
