Got on the lake about 6:00 am and trolled up the left side about 3/4 the way and did not get a hit. I was using a chrome 6" dodger and a Rapala 2 1/2" minnow. I changed to a 1 1/2" plastic crayfish and the fun was on. I took home three 13" rainbows and released 4 more, lost 3 at the boat and had 2 real nice ones on for about 10 seconds that took some line off the reel and then nothing. I also hand 10-12 one hit bumps but no hook up. I think my treble hooks were too small, so when I got home I changed them to the next size up

I saw many boats trolling too fast and talked to one boat that was trolling twice as fast as I was and they said that they did not even get on hit all day.

Talked to another guy on the lake and he said that there was a hell of a lot of fish in the lake and a lot of big ones also at the 15-20 ft depth.

Going back this next week.

Cheers and tight lines.

Jack

I was there on Sunday and tried all sorts of setups for the first few hours, but what ended up working was the same method I used 2 weeks ago. 3/8 oz egg weight with 4ft of leader with a power egg and worm trolled as slow as the motor will go. Once we started doing that, we had 6 fish in the boat within 1.5 hours. There ARE a lot of fish in that lake and the big ones are 20 - 25 feet deep. I've heard you have to get there before it gets light to catch them though.
