I hit the launch line at 04:30. 20 minutes and we were in the water. Parked way out yonder and hiked back. There were about ten rigs waiting now. We rigged our poles and set out to gett'em. We ran a varied assortment of red bare hooks, hooks and red beads. and pink hootchies. All were run behind an 0 chrome dodger 45-60' OTW. 2 fish hit on one rod rigged with 3 individual hooks. (Sorry no pictures.) Total length of leader from swivel to the end of the 3rd hook was 8''! Size 1 hooks spaced an inch apart. The other fish came to 4 red beads between 2 red hooks on a ten inch leader. I kept the speed between .9 and 1.3 MPH.
I had my oldest with me. He recently had knee surgery. I figured some hydro therapy was in order. The time spent on the water with him was 5 star. The three fish were bonus. We got off the water around 11:00.
Others seemed to be getting bit now and again. Many many lost fish. We had 3 hits, 3 in the boat, and came away feeling like winners!
