Fishing with my neighbor, Mike, we hit the WDFW launch at 6am in my classic 15' Glasspar sporting dual Evinrudes, 85 and 9.9, with Bimini top, which comes in handy on days like this when the rains come.
I'd had a great day fishing here last week, so I was able to keep us in the "fish zone" and give Mike good advice, which he ignored as usual. That is until, my rigs started catching fish, then he says, yeah, lemme borrow one of those hoochies, ha ha! Soon as he put the proper tackle in the water, bang! Fish on! He put the biggest fish of the day in the boat, a 16" beauty!
I use 4" dodgers, small spinner-hoochies tipped with white shoepeg corn scented and dyed with Pautzke's Balls o Fire egg Firecure in Pink Rose. Our success was at 25 - 35 OTW in avg 60 FOW, near the big island between the natural west shoreline. See hotspots.
So, at 10am, when the wind and rain blew us off the lake, we had C&R'd one small Koke and one perch, and took home these 3 beautiful Kokes, 16", 15" and 13".
Tight lines ladies and gentlemen,
