First time to the lake other than a scouting trip. Although the fish seem to be bitey still, they are well past their prime (only one of the 4 I put in the box would smoke well, the others will taste just like crab ;>) Launched my 19' glass boat at 5:15 AM and inched my way out of the river into the lake as I noted the rocks on my scouting trip. On the trip back in I was able to see just how skinny that water is. Yikes. I wouldn't want to cross that in the whitecap conditions I have seen posted here. Started working a school 205 fow 85 on the dr on the south side up lake. Fish on at 6:30, released due to color. Fish bonked at 6:45. Fished til about 11:00. 4 total in the box plus one lost on the surface and one drive by. Will try and hit this and Baker Lake earlier in the year (got a nice bright one there 7-13 in the single pic) All bites today on double red bare hooks. Tried black, and a pink hootchie blue smile blade setup that caught the Baker fish with no joy.
