Oh how I have missed this lake. First time fishing it this year and it didn't disappoint. Well at least the last two hours. I started trolling near downtown Kirkland in the bay. Wiggle hoochie with night crawler to start out with. Not much happening with that setup so I switched over to the Seahawks Brads Mini Cutplug. Threw some herring fillets inside, topped with procure herring scent. Filleted a tiny piece of herring for the trailing hooks and set the gear down to 50 in 100 ft of water. Caught perch after perch so I decided to move location up towards Kenmore. I noticed tons of fish surfacing near the shorelines so I went in closer to 50-45 ft of water. Marked fish down at 40 so I set gear right at those Marks. Didn't take long for the first fish to take the bait and also spit the hook. Rebait and gear right back down and takedown number two happens which ended up being a 17 inch Cutt. Repeat the same steps, this time turning around trolling back through where I got my hookups and I get a huge takedown, fish comes flying out of the water and this looked to be as big as that 23 incher I caught last year. Reel it in and it's a dang Coho. Was playing the fish to tired it out so I could safely release it but it decided to snap off my trail hook instead and Swim away. Coho this early??? Anyhow, didn't have much more action after all the water Skiers and jet skies came out. All in all, not a bad day fishing. I just wish I didn't waste time earlier this morning in deep water. The fish are in the shallows near Kirkland. I'll be back out there very soon hunting down those 5lb cutts!

long time no here good to see your fishing again Dj , oh my health problems cut me off since last summer ended up with 4 dics in the lower back compressed for trying to dead lift bear hug style my mother off the throne after coming out of the hospital, not thinking oh dear after the MRI report doctor asked me what did you do ? I told him, he told me he's never seen such a mess decided to operate to fix to small space for the spine lost all use of the right leg then got flagged off a minute before going to the OR to high pulse rate sends me to his body on the next floor down now i'm waiting to go get Catheter Ablation if that all works then return back to square one start over on the back oh joy I guess the fish will wait and yes I still have all that gear that we haven't tryed that we talked about one day we'll get there fat fish to catch now dont stop till all the bait is gone, again it's good to see you back on the reporting end some of those old ones from last were real good.
