WDFW suggests seeking options other than Puget Sound so thought we would give Drano Lake Chinook a shot. Fishing was not overwhelming but it was worth the drive! Caught these two Chinook, 18 and 22lbs so not complaining a bit about the 500 mile round trip.

Lots of boats on the lake at the mouth of the Klickitat, some for steelhead, some for coho and some for Chinook. We heard the tribes had just hauled nets that morning so our hopes kind of took a hit right out the gate. But it did appear there were lots of coho in the lake. Saw a few steelhead caught, a few coho but darn few Chinook. Think we just got lucky.

Yes the bigger fish has a fin but according to WDFW Weekender Report wild fish are keepers in the lake. Don't think that is the case out in the river but don't know for sure.

We didn't try for coho, we were all in for Chinook or nothing.

Tuna stuffed Brads Super Bait and ProTroll flashers for the big one and green wiggle wart for the "little" one.

The water level was low which according to the locals has a significant impact on fish in the lake, and yes the wind was blowing. When you are used to Puget Sound winter blackmouth windy weather it didnt seem too bad.
