The Lake Trout fishing on Lake Chelan has been up and down. Spring has sprung... and with that comes a variety of weather conditions. Our best production this week has been the area adjacient to the Yacht Club. We caught some fish in the 350' depths. Our boats averaged about 1 fish per hour. What was nice, was that in addition to the typical 2-6 pound fish we caught a number of 8 to 14 pound fish. U-20 Flatfish and K-lures have continued to be the big producing lures. Work them within 10' of the bottom and keep your speed just above 1 knot. Special thanks to our guide Al Brooks and good friend Fred Ross of E. Wenatchee for helping us get on these bruisers.
Rufus Woods should be getting better for triploids and kokanee with the warming water.
Roses Lake has been kicking out limits of planter rainbows with the periodic holdover, just to keep it interesting. All the usual suspects of slip sinker and powerbait or nightcrawlers work fine there. Also trolling wedding rings or Mepps spinners will work to. Trolling Wooly Buggers on a sinking fly line will get you plenty of these feisty rainbows.
