Gave Potholes a whirl on Saturday morning at 07:00 for some walleye action, only there was no action, we got diddly squat. Started off from the State Park and headed up to the crab creek area through fog that was thick as pea soup. Visibility was about 50’ at best, thank goodness for GPS, the only way I could find the fishing grounds. The fog finally burned off about 10:00 or so to mostly sunny skies.

Started trolling worm harnesses and slow death set ups. We fished in 8-35 FOW with no luck. We then moved to the Medicare Beach area with nothing to show for it. We tried blade baiting a few underwater humps but still nothing. We talked to a couple boats and nobody had caught anything other than a bullhead. We left at 12:30 and headed home.

Although no fish, it was still nice to be on the water. Maybe next time.

Sorry to hear it was yet another bust. I've been itching to get back since last month's trip there, which was the same, and your report definitely confirms I should wait until spring. Thank you for the fresh report.
I must say, your advice and my following experience on Kokanee has given me the bug! I've since outfitted myself with a number of custom made hoochies, bought some small spinners, a few dodgers, scents and am in the process of upgrading my fishfinder. I can't wait to get back there. I really do hope the walleye situation picks up, though, because that still is the big draw. Maybe this year's fall surveys will give a better picture of what is going on. Another Potholes report from this weekend suggests maybe the boom of the past couple of years has lead to overfishing. It sure seems that way, though last fall's surveys didn't seem to indicate so.
Best of luck. Tell your little guy I/ we said hi!

I too have had the same results lately. Today I'm going to try Moses for a change (10/25). More later

We were the guys in the grey Tracker and it was indeed a tough day on Potholes. The last three falls have been very good on Potholes doing exactly what we both did on Saturday; our results should have been better. Seeing upwards of 50 boats a day on the weekends all spring and into summer leads me to believe that the pressure has really thinned out the population of both walleyes and perch. Hopefully I am wrong but the slow bite for the last few months is not very encouraging.

I wish the state would raise the size limit minimum, this 12" fish size I think is killing the fishery. The perch are almost all but gone.
