Adhering to the rule, don't leave fish to find fish, the trio returned to Sprague. Fortunately the wind was not bad today and we found the fish in a biting mood immediately. We offered rippin minnow in perch pattern and Kekeda flies behind 1/4 ounce weights, also perch. After the first four hits and no fish I increased our speed to 2.5-2.7 MPH and the fish began sticking. We had all our lines far behind the boat and 2 lines off a planer board. We again had many jumpers and with our Kokanee rods we had to slow the boat down in order to get many of the fish to the boat.

Fish today were 17-22 inches with most 18+. We weighed one hog at 4.4 lbs, had to put the boat in neutral to budge him. We fished 5.5 hours today and ended up with 24 landed fish with another 10-15 hits. It is hard to believe that the bite slowed for us late morning which coincided with the sun coming out. We had a closing flurry of fish when we switched to rainbow trout rippin monnows. The plugs definitely bettered the flies today. I think we will have to give it another go tomorrow. As usual, another great day on the water with friends. Our companion boat fishing Sprague today got 16 fish, all on plugs.
