Went out to Crabapple to see if the bite was on. I got a late start due to my laziness. I haven't fished this lake for 20 years or so and wanted to try some place new. When I arrived I spoke with some young anglers, who assured me that this was the place to get bass. I started throwing a small spinnerbait and managed to get a few 1/2 # bass. When I went to a plastic worm, I hooked into a nice perch. In fact this lake is FULL OF PERCH! Hey I will fish for anything if its biting. I switched to a red and white crappie jig and started catching perch left and right. I also managed a couple of nice trout, they appeared to be carry-overs 12"-14". All in all it was nice to get out and relax. I spent about 3 hours catching fish and went home feeling good.. This lake is very nice and everyone I spoke with was also very nice. I plan on taking my 14 month old Daughter out on Fathers Day. She is learning to fish real fast and I think that catching a mess of perch with her would be an awesome present.
