Went to clear lake for a couple hours to try and catch some rainbows and brook trout. Ice thickness was 9 inches with half a foot of snow on top. Slight breeze made it a little chilly at times but couldn't beat the bluebird day. I have never ice fished this side of clear lake as there is quite the slope to the lake but I made it down. Coming back up is another thing... Made several holes out to the middle of the smaller part of the lake checking depths with 5ft being the average depth til it dropped off at the end of my trail to 10ft. I fished in 7ft. Ended up losing a couple rainbows right off the bat due to reel malfunctions so that was irritating but ended up catching 5 brook trout. Watched a rather large bull trout swim through on the camera which was fun to see. I used a small silver/green swedish pimple and a fat boy tipped with waxworm.
