Went fishing for the 'halibut' over the weekend. Fished Friday and Saturday so as not to burn brownie points by missing Mother's Day. Friday was a bit windy at times but Saturday was great. Fished out by the armada of boats on Dungeness Bar with Tom and Tbone. On Friday I hooked a 25-40 pounder and had it all the way up to the boat. I had been fishing up on the bow and we lost it as I went to the stern and cockpit so we could harpoon it. I was using a jig with big single hook and must not have gotten it buried to the bend. A little slack and off it went! The next day in the same spot, Tbone got a 40 pounder. I think it was my fish (grin). It went home with us. We heard of a few being caught on Saturday including one about 80 that hit the dock just before we did. We'll be back for Memorial Day.
