Launched from Camano Island State Park for the short run to East Point. Hit the water around noon at change of the tide. My son got a hit from a 10 pound Black mouth within the first 20 minutes on a cut plug herring at around 75 ft. Nice fish in the boat! The rest of us switched to herring and proceeded to catch a couple of shakers followed up with a 19" Blackmouth around 2:00 PM. That one had to go back into the drink. After that the bite was over, we fished until around 3:30 when the wind began to kick up. We decided to head in while the water was still in good enough condition to assure that we could trailer the boat without too much problem. Saw no more than six boats fishing at any time and no nets in the water, so maybe we were the lucky ones.
