Went out with my friends Brad and Manual. We launched out of Edmonds and ran up to shipwreck. Fished from 6:30 to 9am in the rain. Using humpy setups (pink lures, white flashers). Ran three rods, 65, 55, and 35. The hot rod was 55 feet. At 7:30 hit a humpy and a few minutes later caught and released a nice 15 pound King. "Yes, Manual, the fish has to go back!" After that things died off. We didn't see anyone else having much action so we ran over to Possession and fished from 9:30 to 12:30. Hit a 4 pound silver at 10:30 and saw several other boats catching fish so our hopes went up. But the bite quickly died off. Ended the day in front of Edmonds and caught two shaker blackmouth, one about 20". Again, everything on the 55 foot deep humpy rig. Pulled pots - lots of females. Kept two male dungeness and two male red rock.
I'd say today at least, the run is in the starting phase. Should get much better in the next 1-2 weeks.
