The water was great for the opener, but the tides weren't very good in the morning... I launched at Shilshole with the intent of ending up at Point No Point. Used a Hot Spot with a white/green fire tail Coyote all day except when I stopped to jig for a little bit.
Ran a couple of passes at Meadows Point on the way out. No bait or fish there, and I was the only boat.
Ran North and fished Pilot Point with the small incoming tide. No bait and no bites, didn't see any action from the 5-10 boats there. Same story at Point No Point. A couple of small boats mooching, but most trolling.
Ran over to Useless Bay at about 10:00. Saw a guy catch a nice fish out by the mouth of the bay just as I got my line in the water. About 300 yards later, I got a good hit with the downrigger right on the bottom in 115 feet. Landed an unclipped 8 pound hen blackmouth after a nice fight.
Nice flat water for the return to Shilshole! Only one bite all morning, but I made it count! Looked like lots of boats at Possession as I went by.
