Hit the water at o-dark hundred (5am). Easy Limits and his friend Jason, my sleeping son Matt, and myself. We pounded the Meadow Point area until 8am using the usual suspects - mainly trolling shallow. Carl had one nice hit which came off. Things looked pretty slow - dead slow. We decided to head up to Edmonds. Started fishing just north of the oil docks and at 8:40 my rod popped off. A solid fish made some nice runs but eventually came to the net. Pure chrome - 11 pounds of it. Nice fish! We figure this might be the pre 10am high tide bite. The fish was caught at 65 ft on the rigger, a large green flasher with magnum green glow hoochie. The next fish hit Jason's hit flasher/spoon cobo at 9:30. He was long lining with 6oz of lead and about 80 ft out. We figured the tide bite was coming. It did, sort of. We would see nets coming up here and there. A definate bite but not a killer bite. We got no more hits and called it a day at 11:30am. Kind of disapointing, it wasn't as hot as we were expecting. Oh well, that's fishing. Matt spent the whole trip asleep in the cutty. I would have woken him if there was something worth waking for...
