My fishing partner and I decided to try Elliot Bay for the first time - Tulalip is just too slim a fishery! Anyway we dropped our lines about 4:45 or so off Duwamish Head trolling south. Picked up a res. silver in about 10 mins. back down with bait behind hotspots. Nothing really doing (where we were) but a little before 6:00 got a nice take down in front of the boat ramp 58 feet down off the rig. Nice 19# fish. Stayed in the same general area till about 8:30 with one more good take down but no hookup. Decided to move down by the port & shipyards. As soon as we arrived we saw about 4 fish picked up in the next 20 min. then the bite disappeared. Talked to some other boaters I guess there was a pretty good bite closer to the estuary that morning, especially out in front of Salty's.Put on a squid to try and drum up another silver, got one about 10:30. Pulled out around 11:30 almost nobody left from the morning, you could tell the regulars pull out by 9 to 9:30 if they haven't yanked a limit. Best of luck, oh and if you didn't know the Indians start their gillnet fishery on the 6th.
