My girlfriend Jen, and I went to Hoodsport on Saturday to get in on the Chums I heard were in and boy we were not disappointed! I cannot remember a day that so many fish were caught by so many people! The crowd was also light, by Hoodsport standards, and the fish seemed a bit larger this year than last. Jen Caught the first fish of the day and the largest (two dollars) but after she went to warm up in the truck I was able to land the most (one dollar), so I was not completely out fished by a rookie! Do not make the same mistake I made and show up with old 10 pound test mainline, these fish will make you pay for it. I had to re-spool with new 20 pound test in the middle of the day. Most people were using green corkies and yarn, but with so many fish, color didn't seem to matter. Guys if you a trying to get your lady friend interested in fishing, take her to Hoodsport, chances are it will be the most action she's ever had, fishing that is.
