I do believe the time of recreational fishing in this area is over. I fished with three of my friends and we didn't catch a single fish. We were only bottom fishing though. The main thing we were after were crab. We dropped a few pots and caught about 50 or so crabs not a single one was regulation size though. We went out about a mile from the coast. While I was fishing I literally saw about 20 or so commercial crabbers who were bringing up huge pots. I know that it's a tough living and isn't the best paying job being a crabber, but all of the commercial crabbing has undoubtably led to very poor recreational fishing for the average joe. If anyone knows of a better place I should hit up please let me know. Bottom fish and crabs are what I'm after.
