I fished with my friends Mauri and Jason at the Hatchery Zone. We anchored my boat just north of the Zone by the pilings. When we got to the Zone around 9AM we did not see many fish jumping or splashing. As the tide came in fishing became better and better. By noon catching was very good. We were getting fish about every third or fourth cast. We called it a day around 2:30 PM with sore arms.
Please note that when the tide is out and you are bank fishing at the Zone you still have to stay inside the red marker bouys. We saw about 15 fisherman get escorted out of the Zone by the wardens for fishing outside of the red bouys.
