Fished out of my boat with TomS. Left Everett in the fog and headed out. Turned out to be a good test for my new Navionics chip. We could barely see far enough for safe boating, but at least we knew where we were. Went over to Clinton, staying out of the ferry lanes until we saw the dock loom out of the fog. Trolled Columbia beach. Tom used a Hot Spot and yellowtail Coyote while I ran a green Apex with e-Chip. We had lots of bait and good bites. Had one 23 inch wild fish to the boat and one 21 1/2 clipped fish plus other smaller ones. Only three boats there to start, but we had trouble with one of them two or three times. A big cruiser from Lake Chelan was also trolling, but they had a guy standing back on the swim platform steering the kicker and he couldn't see in front of the boat. They seemed to steer right into us each pass no matter what we did. Once we had to power up to keep from them hitting us broadside, as we had already turned 90 degrees to avoid them. To get away from them, we headed for Sandy Point. Still in the fog, and not much bait or fish there.
Moved up to Langley and found fish suspended over 150 to 180 or so. Caught more shakers there. The fog lifted and we were treated to perfectly flat water and sunshine. Tide was starting to run out pretty hard at that point.
Also tried East Pt to Baby Island before heading in. Marked lots of fish, but the current was flying, and we didn't have many more bites up there. Gorgeous afternoon, just no fish to clean this time...
