Another nice day at the Hollow, fishing with Tom Jacobs and daughters Elizabeth and Maggie. We had the lines down at 6:30am, usual pink rigs. In addition, I was casting a buzz bomb (shades of pink) off the side of the boat, counting down 40-50 seconds and retrieving. First fish hit almost immediately on the buzz bomb and I brought to the side of the boat a pink - which came off jut as we were grabbing the net. No worries, plenty more where that came from. Over the next 2 hrs we caught 4 pinks, not red hot but not bad. One double, and ending the early bite one nice silver which yours truly messed up trying to net- sorry Tom! We managed one more fish at 10am and that was it. Fishing depths were 55-90 ft, but most were caught at 55-70 ft. Herring strips with secret sauce of course. We didn't see nets going like crazy, but did see enough to know the fish are in, just not as easy to nail this year. Back at Shilshole the fish checker reported 12 silvers brought in , three ocean runs. Can't wait for the coho!
